The CH552 chip is an enhanced E8051 core microcontroller compatible with the MCS51 instruction set. 79% of its instructions are single-byte, single-cycle instructions, and the average instruction speed is 8 to 15 times faster than the standard MCS51. xRAM, xRAM supports DMA direct memory access.

The CH552 has built-in ADC analog-to-digital conversion, touch key capacitance detection, 3 sets of timers and signal capture and PWM, dual asynchronous serial ports, SPI, USB device controller and full-speed transceiver.

CH551 is a simplified version of CH552, with 10K program memory ROM, 512 bytes of on-chip xRAM, only UART0 asynchronous serial port, only SOP16 package, only 4 channels of touch keys, and the ADC analog-to-digital converter module and USB type-C module are removed.

5.ROM: 16KB capacity multi-programmable non-volatile memory ROM, which can be fully used for program storage space; or it can be divided into 14KB program storage area and 2KB boot code BootLoader/ISP program area.

6.DataFlash: 128 bytes of multi-writable non-volatile data memory, supports rewriting data in bytes.
RAM: 256 bytes of internal iRAM for fast data staging and stacking; 1KB of on-chip xRAM for mass data staging and DMA direct memory access.

8.USB: Embedded USB controller and USB transceiver, support USB-Device device mode, support USB type-C master-slave detection, support USB 2.0 full speed 12Mbps or low speed 1.5Mbps. support maximum 64 bytes packet, built-in FIFO, support DMA.
9.Timer: 3 groups of timers, TO/T1/T2 are standard MCS51 timers.

10. Capture: Timer T2 is extended to support 2-way signal capture.
PWM: 2 sets of PWM outputs, PWM1/PWM2 are 2-channel 8-bit PWM outputs.

12.UART: 2 groups of asynchronous serial ports, both support higher communication baud rate, UARTO is a standard MCS51 serial port.
SPI: SPI controller built-in FIFO, clock frequency up to half of the system master frequency Fsys, support serial data input and output simplex multiplexing, support Master/Slave master-slave mode.

17. lnterrupt:Support 14 groups of interrupt signal sources, including 6 groups of interrupts compatible with standard MCS51 (INTO, TO, INT1, T1, UARTO, T2), and 8 groups of extended interrupts (SPIO, TKEY, USB, ADC, UART1, PWMX, GPIO, WDOG), where GPIO interrupts can be selected from 7 pins. Watch-Dog: 8-bit presettable watchdog timer WDOG, supports timing interrupts.
Reset: support 4 kinds of reset signal source, built-in power-on reset, support software reset and watchdog overflow reset, optional pin external input reset.

19.Clock: built-in 24MHz clock source, can support external crystal by multiplexing GPIO pins.

20.Power: Built-in 5V to 3.3V low dropout voltage regulator, support 5V or 3.3V or even 2.8V supply voltage. Support low-power sleep, support USB, UARTO, UART1, SPIO and some GPIO external wakeup

USB download steps to use CH552 for example

1, use the shorting cap or tweezers to short the following two pins, the CH552 development board into the computer USB

2, select the chip series: click on the "8-bit CH55X series" tab page

3,Select the chip model: select "CH552" in the "Chip Model" list

4,Select the download mode: select "USB download" in the "Download mode" list

5, download configuration; in the "download configuration" column, the download configuration settings

6, select the download device: you can select the specified device in the "USB device list": if the device is connected to the PC, the software will detect

7,If IAP is not enabled in the download configuration, you only need to select the corresponding download file for "User program file"; if IAP is enabled, you need to select the corresponding download file for "IAP program file" and "User program file". If IAP is enabled, you need to select the corresponding download file for "IAP program file" and "user program file". Then click "Download" button.
